The storm
The front page of a small-town evening paper on 14 May 1957, the day after seven tornadoes crossed three counties. A funnel bears down on a grain elevator, and a sketch of the radar scope shows the hook echo that gave forty minutes' warning. The toll is set out county by county. Every story is written to be read, down to the drive-in offering free admission to storm volunteers.
Print Details: - Printed on ultra-high-quality Premium Lustre Paper for a professional, semi-gloss finish. - Available unframed, or framed in White, Black, Light Natural Wood or Dark Brown Wood. - Available Sizes: A4 (8x12), A3, A2, and A1.
About the artwork: The Tallgrass Courier, Tallgrass County and everyone in its pages are invented. No real storm, town or newspaper is depicted. The photographs were made new for this page rather than taken from an archive, then screened as halftone the way a press of the period would have printed them. All the type is set fresh.
